- IX---Please Do Not Touch
The "Please Do Not Touch" concept aims to raise awareness about the alarming issue of domestic violence, which has intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic. Quarantine measures have resulted in a 20% increase in intimate partner violence (IPV) cases worldwide, and it is predicted that there will be at least 15 million additional cases.
Even before the pandemic, IPV was a significant problem due to various factors such as isolation, stress, alcohol, lack of resources, economic anxiety, and joblessness. These factors have been further magnified by the pandemic, leading to a sharp surge in IPV cases.
The concept utilizes a powerful symbol to convey its message: a scar with the words "Please Do Not Touch" and a bandage design. This representation signifies the enduring emotional wounds inflicted on victims. By highlighting the lingering pain experienced by survivors, the concept aims to generate awareness and foster action to combat domestic violence. It also emphasizes the importance of supporting victims in their journey towards healing.
