Heavens Fall
Heavens Fall – Iceberg is a footwear collection inspired by the impact of global warming, driven by excessive development and the wasteful consumption of natural resources. The project reflects how human activities disrupt natural systems, emphasizing the urgent need to recognize the consequences of these actions and reconsider sustainable practices in response to ecological imbalance.
The collection centers on global climate change and melting glaciers. Icebergs serve as a metaphor for natural systems that appear massive and strong yet are structurally fragile. This idea is translated into footwear through negative space, fragmented volumes, and visually unstable constructions.
The series consists of three footwear styles, each interpreting the theme from a different perspective:
A Concept High-Heel
The high-heel design features iceberg imagery printed across the upper, paired with a hollow triangular aluminum heel structure. The open framework and sharp geometric forms reference broken ice formations, creating a sense of tension between solidity and collapse.
A Sneaker
The sneaker incorporates iceberg graphics on both the upper and outsole. The EVA sole is cut into block-like forms inspired by fractured ice masses, translating the visual language of glaciers into a functional, wearable structure.
An Oxford Shoe
The Oxford shoe explores climate data as surface language. Global Temperature Prediction Maps, combined with Elliott Wave Theory, are printed onto a cracked leather upper. The dried, fractured texture symbolizes extreme climate conditions and environmental deterioration caused by global warming.
Across the collection, metal materials and cold blue tones evoke the Arctic and Antarctic landscapes and the broader glacier system. These elements communicate a sense of coldness and severity, reinforcing the idea of a powerful yet vulnerable natural environment. The heel construction, in particular, suggests a system “walking on thin ice,” where balance is precarious, and every step requires caution.
Through these three designs, Iceberg translates the effects of climate change into distinct footwear typologies, using material choice, structure, and surface treatment to reflect ecological fragility and human responsibility.
